Newsletter 2008 december
We are presenting you with a short December newsletter, leaving you enough time to send Christmas greetings and formulate new resolutions. Those who wish to order some last minute x-mas gifts, can have a look at our magazines, donation certificates and Kambisa!OnScreen. 07-08 DVD’s in the web shop. As the Dutch tax department has recently acknowledged us as a organization of general interest for the community, all donations made under the Dutch tax system are now deductable. The profits will benefit the running Kambisa!- projects. Kambisa! is wishing you a very happy holiday season and a very healthy and inspiring 2009!
Jorrit and Reinier are on their way back to Holland after having enabled youths in Lusaka, Mongu, Ndola and Kasama to make a movie of
their own. They ve been working with stone crushers, bus drivers, streert vendors and a range of other people. We ́ll tell you more in our next newsletter!

Using her Irish and Zambian roots, she will be dealing with international and Zambian relations as well
and

We wish to congratulate Harrie and wish him ongoing success in all of his endavours!
Community Centre, Lusaka
To give our projects a steady base, we want to establish a community centre in Lusaka. It should be a place where everybody can walk in to get training, to use several media facilities and to give shows. In the end it should have a theatre, a studio for radio and video production, an internetcafe and a few printers, plus an
inviting space for the young. Additionally, it should serve a the Kambisa! base and provide our international volunteers a place to stay.
To realise this, we need a piece of land which is easy to access, money and materials to build the community centre (preferably with local sustainable materials), to furbish it and to manage it. One of the ways we want to do this, is by finding sponsors. If you know anyone who could be interested to work with us, please let us know!
* producers of tabacco, alcohol, harmfull cosmetics etc. are excluded. Sponsors do not get an influence on the contents of our publications or projects!
Volunteers
We can still use some volunteers for our projects in Zambia and the Netherlands. Jobs vary from packing orders, to writing this newsletter, plans and contracts. If you have time to spare, we would like to hear!

’08-’09
Still for sale: the DVD ́s of Kambisa!OnScreen. 07/08, three Zambian documentaires by young Zambian filmmakers. Now on sale for 7,50! Biologisch Goed, a company for biological produce, and the Dick Scherpenzeel Stichting, a society to shed light on forgotten stories, are helping us. Meanwhile Cathelijne and Klaartje are distributing the DVD ́s and working an an educational toolkit to distribute them at
schools.
