Zambia may be ahead in many ways (think: being able to pay your electricity bills from you prepaid phone bill, ..), but shop-to-door delivery is not one of them. We did manage to order the new fruit trees for the orchard online, but then there was the issue of getting them from Lusaka to Chilonga, without a car…. Hiring a car would have costs us over double the money we spend on the trees, so we decided to have some carpenters make a stiff box to protect these young species, and stand along the road to get a ride from the commercial trucks, as many Zambians do.
